Inside British Spares : How to Find Us
British Spares has been around since 1977, selling parts to both trade & retail customers. We bought out the BSA Triumph Norton & AMC dealers & distributors here in New Zealand as they moved over to Japanese machines. We also sold one of the last new Meriden Triumphs; a 1983 TSS.
About 20 years ago we stopped selling complete bikes, closed our workshop & concentrated all our resources on selling parts. We now have a customer base of over 20,000 world-wide, with a reputation built upon our mail order service.
Our current premises in Silverstream, Upper Hutt were opened in 2001 & cover over 12,000 sq. ft, with a range of parts in excess of 20,000 different items. Some of this is new-old-stock which has been acquired from a number of inventory acquisitions from all over the world.
We also offer a number of products of our own manufacture of otherwise unavailable items. The business employs a staff of 9, all of them British bike enthusiasts. The current management has been in place since 2001.
In 2008 we re-opened our workshop to cater for those tricky small jobs on classic bikes that modern shops don't want to (or don't know how to...) tackle, right up to full restorations.
