Triumph Scrambler 1200 - A Modern Classic Project

So we grabbed a 2020 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC in black (what other colour is there ?! ..), and we'll have a wee tinker in the shed to see if we can't give it a bit more of our own flavour.Having picked it up in Auckland and taken most of a day to get back to Welly, we stopped for the night and did some thinking...This is one stonking bike straight out of the crate, but we've always enjoyed playing in the shed and there's a couple of things that come to mind...

Scrambler 1200 Exhaust Header Pipe

Ooh yah, now here’s a trick bit of kit... so much lighter than standard, gets rid of the catalytic converter so the pipe won’t burn your leg at the traffic lights, and a fraction of the standard systems' weight...The beast makes a much deeper growl as an added bonus...

SCR12-FBP1
Fuel Booster Plug, Triumph Scrambler 1200

SCR12-FBP1
Fuel Booster Plug, Triumph Scrambler 1200

Do you find your EFI bike prone to stalling at low engine speeds, lack of throttle response and a lumpy feel to your motor?
Have you fitted a free flow exhaust and worried about it running too lean?
Then this plug and play device will resolve these problems without the need to re-map you ECU.
Fits the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC & Scrambler 1200 XE – ONLY

Modern EFI bikes especially Euro 4 run very lean in open loop mode and this can cause stalling, poor running and hesitant acceleration.
This fuelling device interrupts the signal from the air temp sensor and modifies it to make the ECU add approx 4-6% more fuel during acceleration in open loop mode, it will not affect MPG as it has no effect in closed loop mode ie. cruising mode or steady running. The device has its own temp sensor and it modifies the signal to release the correct amount of fuel for the measured air temperature.

Important – 2021 Euro 5 ONLY Triumph models CAN NOT fit any form of tuner, including BoosterPlug & Power Commander.  This is due to the ECU having anti-tamper software.  Doing so will cause the MIL light to come on.

Scrambler 1200 Tail Tidy

Tail Tidy Kit, TEC, Triumph Scrambler 1200

Tail Tidy Kit, TEC, Triumph Scrambler 1200

These kits completely tidy up the tail end of your bike.  Giving you a much more aggressive Scrambler profile. The kit provides better protection from mud & water coming up from the back end.  As the number plate is in a much better position to protect the rider. Comprised of a 3mm thick, powder coated, alloy, CNC laser cut mounting plate – that re-locates the standard number plate lamp & number plate to the underside of the alloy mudguard.Included in the kit are mounting points for rear indicator lamps to be mounted under the rear mudguard.  Also included are adaptor brackets that allow the use of the OE equipment Triumph 2-hole fitting lamps.  However, we do not recommend using the large plastic bodied OE type indicator lamps in conjunction with the standard exhaust system as they will over heat and may be damaged in the lower position.  We recommend metal-bodied, smaller type lamps. Alternatively, it can be used with aftermarket indicators – genuine Triumph wiring plugs are supplied in the kit for using aftermarket indicators. You will need to shorten the plastic inner mudguard yourself.  This can be done quite simply with a hacksaw.

SCR12-EXH02
Muffler Tailpipe Assembly 2 into 1 by TEC, Triumph Scrambler 1200

304 Stainless Steel 2-1 tailpipe & silencer system produced by TEC for the Scrambler 1200cc XE/XC. Massive 66.6% weight saving over stock – go from 6.6kg down to 2.2kg. This system has been designed to increase gas flow, reduce backed-up air, and cool down the cat and/or header pipes.
Sounds fantastic, but not too loud with our specially developed hi-flow baffle system. Silencer ends before the rear shocks, giving a much cleaner look to the back end. The rear heat shield can now be mounted in 2 positions for improved passenger heat protection. This retains the factory-finish heat shields while achieving a meaner, more aggressive style.Provides better throttle response & gives improved mid-range torque. Removable baffle system with alternate types available. Lifetime warranty on your pipework with 12 month warranty on silencer. All parts including clamps are included in the kit with video instructions to fit to your bike. Works with standard ECU and no re-mapping is required. These 1200 motors are well known for poor low speed lumpiness and stalling due to weak fuelling, we do recommend using a Booster Plug for improved throttle pick up and low speed running. See our Booster Plug listing for more info and video.
